Yesterday evening the very hardworking cum brilliant goverment of Malaysia announced the new fuel price for vehicles on the road. As usually some little increase on pump price….. as little as 40% more only.
This was how most of the petro station look like on Wed evening (after work). The new price effective after mid night.

Various good excuses given by the person in charge of country (oh ya… these guys were elected by the people every 5 years once and e last election just happened 3mths back) One good thing they did was they never forget to extend a great reward or intensive to the so called not so rich drivers. This very ATTRACTIVE rebate sound like this => "Annual cash rebate of RM625 for owners of private vehicles with an engine capacity of up to 2,000cc"
Immediately a forward mail circulated on internet which point out how this rebate work to it advantage. I decided to copy it out to share with anyone of you which concern or need to have a clear picture how this fantastic package work in actual fact
========================================================
Rebate / Year for care below 2000cc RM 625.00
Therefore Rebate / month RM 52.08
Assume using 66.8 liters a month
1 month usage before price up (RM 1.92/liter) RM 128.20
1 month usage after price up (RM 2.70/liter) RM 180.28
Different between before and after RM 52.08
========================================================
mmmm….. for a driver who drove 1.5 liter model. The average travelling distance for 66-67 liters fuel estimate to be around 600km. Above calculation indicate if the driver maintain at the usage of 66.8 liter a month, the fuel increase action will not affect his/her monthly expenses plan since the rebate extend by govt able to offset the extra expenses.
But for a budget of traveling distance of 600KM a month budget, it mean only 20Km per day.
Oh dear oh dear…. 20KM allowance of mileage per day (or 10KM from home since you need to have 2 way travel )… 10KM from home…. go where ar ? Dont know lar…. I cant figure out the logic of me will not get affected by this 40% fuel price go up though i enjoy the RM52+ rebate a month….. the distance from home to office already 20km + the ever not moving traffic on the road…
How about the chain effect going to take effect ?? The foods price sure will be up (since the hawkers need fuel to transfer their goods) Daily price in supermarket….. tol for highway…. lot of us should start to look for second job in order to maintain to survive in this tough period.
So far the smart guy in office who managed the country insist that public transport + taxi fare will not go up…. lets see how long it will stay at old price….
